Career
Your career doesn’t have to follow one path.
Already an RN? Compare further education with your goals and working commitments. For a first job, start with employer expectations and your board’s rules.
Understand RN-to-BSN as postlicensure education
Ask employers about orientation and support
Check official requirements before changing roles
Make your next step a considered one.
For a first nursing job, compare orientation, available support, schedules, and the actual requirements in the job description. Ask the employer what its graduate or residency program involves.
Already an RN? Think beyond the degree label.
RN-to-BSN programs are postlicensure routes for eligible registered nurses. Ask about license requirements, credits you can transfer, residency eligibility, and any fieldwork. Use the official accreditation directories and request an individual credit and cost evaluation from each program.
Advanced practice and travel nursing
Check the qualifications and practice authorization required for the role and location you are considering. For advanced study, ask the institution about certification requirements, placements, and the time commitment.
